The Sekyere South District Assembly has supported 120 Persons with disability (PWDs) with various items worth GHC120, 000.00 to boost their commercial gains.
Speaking with the District Chief Executive of the area Catherine Reckling, she explained that, contributions of persons with disability matter most in our nation building therefore the government has decided to cushion them with items that would help boost their economic activities.
He continued that, it is also the vision of the government to elevate persons with disability from poverty therefore such intervention was a necessary step.
The items she gave out included refrigerators, corn miller, sewing machines among others.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman for persons with disability, Mr Philip Akwasi Mensah also applauded the government for its support and advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items that they have received.
